Altar Guild - This is a ministry of service which performs the functions of preparing the Altar for worship.

Acolytes: Acolytes assist in the order of service by leading processions and helping at the Altar.

Lay Readers: Lay Readers assist in the conduct of worship and are specially trained to plan and lead worship.

Eucharistic Ministers: We have two categories of eucharistic ministers. Some eucharistic ministers offer the chalice during Holy Communion. Other eucharistic ministers are trained to take the consecrated elements to those who are ill or otherwise unable to attend worship.

Lectors: Lectors assist during worship by reading the appointed lessons.

Litanists: Litanists lead our prayers during worship.

Choir: The choir is an active group of 8 - 14 people. They enhance worship by providing inspiring music that fits the themes of the day and by leading congregational singing.

Cemetery Committee: This committee is responsible for maintaining St. Christopher's

cemetery and operating the cemetery according to the rules and regulations set forth by the vestry.  St. Christopher's also has a Columbarium.  Cemetery plots and niches are available to members and may be purchased by contacting the committee chairman or the church office.

Communication and Publicity: Along with this website, St. Christopher's also publishes

a monthly newsletter called "The Spirit", which is distributed both by mail and by email.  If you wish to be on the mailing list, please contact the church office.  You may also access the Diocese of West Texas at www.westtexasonline.org.

Education for Ministry:  EFM is a four-year course of biblical study and theological reflection.  The program is under the direction of the School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and those who participate receive continuing education units.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW): The ECW meets once each month and is responsible

for the Annual Tasting Tea and other church activities, receptions and events. Any and all Episcopalian women are invited to attend.

Men's Breakfast:  The Men's group meets each Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and Bible Study.  Other activities include Habitat for Humanity, the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast, the annual Men's Club retreat and fruitcake sale during the Christmas season.

Outreach Committee:  This committee is responsible for allocating church funds set aside to reach beyond our parish and help others in need in our community and around the world.  The church budgets a certain amount each year for this purpose and the committee also holds fund raising events to augment the dollars available for distribution.

Prayer Chain:  Whenever the need for prayer arises in our parish, the prayer chain goes

into action.  The prayer chain is a system whereby a web of prayer is spun for those in need.

Sunday School: St. Christopher's offers Sunday School for adults which meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the parish hall. We are currently studying the Letters of St. Paul.  Class is led by the Rector. Everyone is invited.

Ushers:  These volunteers welcome people as they arrive for worship and keep an eye out for newcomers and visitors making sure they feel at home. They also distribute name tags and the morning service leaflet.

Vestry:  The Vestry is the governing body of the parish.  Vestry members are elected to

three year terms at the annual Parish Meeting held in January of each year.  To be on the

vestry, a member must be a confirmed communicant in good standing.

Welcoming Committee: This committee's responsibility is to welcome visitors attending

our services and make follow-up contacts with prospective members as required.  They

also prepare a package of small gifts and brochures about our church to distribute to newcomers.
